Residential Living

ELM Homes offers a continuum of residential support services to children and adults with disabilities in Southern Minnesota. ELM Homes Residential Placements provide opportunities for safe, supportive independent and community living to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. Services range from total care for the profoundly disabled to group homes that foster independent, community-based living for individuals capable of relatively high levels of self-sufficiency.

Individuals whose disabilities limit their independence, may share a home with others who need similar support to ensure their well being twenty-four hours a day. Staff training is designed to assist the individuals we serve to meet his/her physical and personal management needs by teaching skills, providing supports, and building on individual strengths and capabilities, while respecting the privacy, autonomy and dignity of the individual.

ELM Homes takes a person-centered approach and may provide assistance in:

  • Personal cares
  • Budgeting and Finance
  • Establishing home routines
  • Social Skills and maintaining healthy relationships
  • Attending community activities
  • Teaching practical life-skills
  • Maintaining and monitoring health and medical care
